Yellowstone County Mental Health Alliance
Bridging the Gaps
in Mental Health Care
Since 2023, mental health professionals have been gathering in Billings every month to strengthen collaboration and improve access to mental health services across Yellowstone County.
Montana's behavioral health workforce continues to face significant challenges, with 51 of the state's 56 counties designated as Mental Health Professional Shortage Areas and only a fraction of the workforce needed to meet growing demand.
As providers work to address these challenges, the Yellowstone County Mental Health Alliance serves as a vital hub for connection, collaboration, and resource-sharing.
By bringing together professionals from across disciplines and organizations, the Alliance helps strengthen referral relationships, expand community partnerships, and improve access to support for those seeking mental health care in Yellowstone County and beyond.

About the Yellowstone County Mental Health Alliance
The Yellowstone County Mental Health Alliance brings together mental health professionals, healthcare providers, educators, nonprofit organizations, advocates, and community partners who are committed to strengthening mental health services in Yellowstone County. Through monthly meet-ups, educational presentations, networking opportunities, and collaborative initiatives, the Alliance helps foster meaningful connections that benefit both professionals and the communities they serve.
Community Impact
Every month, professionals from private practices, hospitals, schools, nonprofit organizations, government agencies, and community programs gather to build relationships and strengthen referral networks. These connections help reduce professional isolation, improve collaboration, and ultimately increase access to mental health support for individuals and families throughout our community.
